God's Word Fulfilled

"Fear not: for I am with thee: I will bring thy seed from the east, and gather thee from the west" Isaiah 43:5

How awesome is the Lord? Only He can do things as amazing as this; after 23 years of being seperated a family is reunited. The best part of this story is God gets all of the glory. We all need to develop this attitude of praise.

WISDOM WEDNESDAYS: Every Wednesday The Carpenter's House will focus on the wisdom found in the word of God

What Is Wisdom and How Can I Get Some?

Wisdom. Everyone wants it. We all would like to be perceived as wise. We all want people to think that we possess some kind of knowledge that they don't have but how can we when we don't even know what wisdom really is? Or who wisdom?

Who is wisdom? Is it possible for wisdom to be a person? How absurd of me to make such a claim, but it is true. Wisdom is a person, a supreme being, the deity of all deities: Wisdom is Jesus Christ. Just look at the definition:

Wisdom–noun
1. the quality or state of being wise; knowledge of what is true or right coupled with just judgment as to action; sagacity, discernment, or insight.
2. scholarly knowledge or learning: the wisdom of the schools.
3. wise sayings or teachings; precepts.
4. a wise act or saying.

Jesus is all of those things and more. He has knowledge of what is true and right because he is the truth, "I am the way, the truth, and the life..." John 14:6. He executes fair judgment with discernment and insight that no one else has. You know the wise saying, "he who is without sin, cast the first stone"? Well, that was Jesus. That was the judgment He decreed when the scribes and Pharisees presented the case of a woman caught in adultery.

"They say unto him, Master this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act. Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but sayest thou? This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not. So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her." John 8:4-7

Now, by no means was Jesus saying adultery is acceptable behavior, when he was done he commanded the woman, to sin no more but he did not condemn her nor did he allow her accusers to.

Everything that Jesus said was wise, is wise and applicable to life no matter what stage of life you're at or what you are facing. When Jesus went into the temple he taught. "And early in the morning he came again into the temple, and all the people came unto him; and he sat down, and taught them." John 8:2

Jesus is wisdom, come down to man. Now how does one acquire wisdom? By seeking Jesus by searching the scriptures. and living your life according to the word. By accepting Jesus for who he says he is, God and letting him be Lord in your life. That truly is an example of a wise person.

Next week, if it be the will of God, I will begin discussing wisdom from the book of Proverbs.

TESTIMONY TUESDAYS: "Yeah, I wanna testify"

Praise ye the Lord! God is good, God is great and worthy to be praised. "Yeah, I wanna testify" of His goodness.  The Lord is doing and has done some wonderful things to me and through me.

I thank God that I had the opportunity to speak with one of my students today about the way that the Lord completely transformed my life. I met my husband in a nightclub and I was a fornicator. The world said, I was just exploring my sexuality, the world said that I was liberated, but the truth is I was a whore, abusing my body with men. Instead of being liberated  I was bound. I was bound by my desires and led by the lust of my flesh to sleep with men whom I didn't know enough about to be sleeping with in the first place and should not have been sleeping with at all.

I thank the Lord, that while my thoughts were not always directed towards him, he was constantly thinking about me and didn't allow me to die in that terrible state. He did not allow any situation that I put myself in to consume me. Yes, I put myself in, those situations. It wasn't Jesus and it wasn't Satan's fault either. A lot of Christians like to blame devil but the truth is that many times when we find our backs against the wall we were the ones who backed up, but that's another story.

I thank Jesus, for dying for me on this day because truly my sins were great and I could not pay the penalty for my transgressions. I thank Him for His resurrection, which gave me power to live right. It's that power that enables me remain faithful to my husband and live according to the word.

If wasn't for Jesus I don't know where I would be but I am glad to be here now. Praise the name of the Lord Jesus Christ!

Revelation 12:11

Who Do Men Say You Are?

Who are you? It's a funny question that has plagued many of us for a number of years, especially since we don't answer based on what we know about ourselves, but instead we answer by regurgitating the garbage others have fed us. The people around us have labeled us as nothing, useless, or have chosen to let one solitary aspect of our life define us and have denied us the right to excel, the right to advise them, counsel them or even pray for them. Like all things there is nothing new under the sun and Jesus had to face this very issue.

When Jesus went to Nazareth, his hometown, to minister he was not greeted with, rolls of Hallelujahs, but with mumbling and questions. Where did, he get such knowledge, wisdom, and power from?

"And when he was come into his own country, he taught them in their synagogue, insomuch that they were astonished, and said, Whence hath, this man this wisdom, and these mighty works? Is this not the carpenter's son? Is not his mother called Mary? and his bretheren, James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas? And his sisters, are they not all with us? Whence then hath this man all these things?" Matthew 13:54-56

Did Jesus let all of their words put him down and stop him from doing the work that he was sent to do. No. Their disbelief and lack of faith became a hinderance to them. They missed out on their healing, their deliverance, and their salvation but Jesus kept on being Jesus. He did not admonish them for their unbelief or go to extreme lengths to prove that he was more than the carpenter's son. So, why are you letting what people have to say about who you are, or what you used be determine the work you do for the King? Every time you let their words impede you it hinders your spiritual growth. Every time you cower or lash out against them to prove who you are you deny Christ.

Humble yourself and let men say what they will knowing that your faith in Christ has now made you a child of God; not all men can say that. You are longer, the nurse or the nurse's daughter, you are longer merely, cashier, but heir to the throne. "For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus." Galatians 3:26

Instead of sulking, run on, doing the work of the Lord, and let men say what they will. Instead of shouting at them, shout praises to God for He has exalted. He has made you the head and not the tail (Deuteronomy 8:13), so why are you letting them lead you. Know on this day that your heavenly Father, loves you and wants to use you to do great works in this land.

Write The Vision

Praise ye the Lord and Welcome to The Carpenter's House!

I had been contemplating creating this blog for quite some time; I don't know if I was waiting for confirmation from the LORD or the will to do it but last week confirmation came. While at church last Sunday, I stood on line for prayer and after the Evangelist had prayed over me she whispered in my ear, "Read, Habakkuk 2."

Some time during this week as I sat down to read the word, the Holy Spirit whispered in that still small voice, "Habakkuk." I turned to Habakkuk and read:

"I will stand upon my watch, and set upon me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved. And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it." Habakkuk 2:1-2

It became very clear to me what had to be done, I must write the vision, and make it plain so that anyone who reads these words could run-run right into Jesus.

Now I invite you to join me as I strive to delve deeper into the word of God and apply it to my life. I invite you to join me as I improve my relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ and grow in love, grace, peace and joy. I invite you to join me in, The Carpenter's House.
